Under current Georgian law, patients must sign multiple consent documents during each outpatient visit to a medical institution. The volume of these documents is quite large, as most consents are required at every visit, creating a significant administrative burden for the clinic.
The biggest issue was that during the signing of these documents, patients often asked numerous questions, which slowed down the process and caused long queues. Additionally, the sheer volume of paperwork created another challenge, as it had to be managed, sorted, and archived, adding to the clinic's administrative burden.
This makes patient registration a pain point for medical service providers, as it requires multiple formal approvals, lengthy paperwork, long queues, and a high risk of errors.
It was very difficult for us to manage documentation at the registry office. Often, someone would forget to get a signature on the consent form, or they’d get the signature, but forget to scan it. We had no electronic archive, so if we needed a document, we had to search through cardboard boxes and stacks of papers.
Signify provided the solution we needed, and in the first phase, we began collecting informed consent signatures using Signify’s signature pads.
Signify's digital signature solution, now also available through physical devices like pads, completely streamlines the registration process. Patients no longer need to sign dozens of sheets for required documents, and staff no longer have to juggle between the patient, printer, and computer to complete the registration process.
Additionally, documents signed on Signify pads are securely stored in one digital space, making them easily accessible whenever needed. Importantly, the signatures are biometric and encrypted, ensuring that sensitive information, such as the patient's biometric data, remains protected from third parties. In the event of a dispute, these signatures can be examined by the Levan Samkharauli National Bureau.
